Wellcroft: More Than Just a Building Project
June 11, the day we arrived. Of course, Butch and I went straight to the land after we got to town.
June 15
We got this video of a Red Breasted Sap Sucker (yes, it's really called that!) bringing food to a single nestling. If you listen you can hear the nestling calling its parent before the adult flies into the picture. (The loud bird that calls twice in the video is a Hermit Thrush.)
June 25
First load of lumber delivered for foundation and sub-flooring. Butch bailing standing water at the kitchen corner of the foundation.
June 24 - Early Patriotic Display

Fireworks off the Manette | Bridge were free to the public. |
July 4
Floor joists installed and sub-floor started.
July 6-11
Wood Cutting and Stacking June 12 - July 11
| 3.6 cords of wood in this stack. Butch chopped 2.5 cords by hand!!! | Using the neighbors splitter made the work go much faster. |
Second and smaller stack of wood - just under 2 cords.
Total in both wood stacks is 5.5 cords.
